Software Upgrades
On or around April 1, 2008, Psyleron will begin a process
of selling its REG-1 package in a variety of forms geared
towards different types of customers. There will be a
lower-end “lite edition” of the product that is meant
to be more affordable and geared towards home users who
want to conduct simplified experiments using the REG,
and there will also be a standard edition, a professional
edition, and ultimately a researcher edition which each
represent a different level of complexity and unique expansions
on the product.
Out of appreciation for and in fairness to our early
customers, we will be treating all purchasers up to this
point as if they had bought the Professional Edition of
the package. This version, which will be initially offered
at $499, is part of a development track that includes
many of our advanced analysis features, intermediate calibration
tools, and the ability to access the REG-1 hardware for
programming purposes.
You do not need to do anything to receive this upgrade;
in the future all of your automatic updates and your access
to the online community will make it possible for you
to download the professional editions of the software.
If you would like a new printed manual that addresses
these new and upcoming features, we will make them available
for $15 to cover our shipping and printing costs. Contact
support@psyleron.com for more information.
If you have friends who might be interested in purchasing
the device and using it in a more analytical context,
you may want to advise them that the offer to purchase
the professional version of the software at the price
of the standard edition will only be available until the
end of the month.
New FieldREG Release
A new version of FieldREG was released on March 21,
2008. The program can be downloaded here (http://www.psyleron.com/beta/fieldreg16pro.exe)
and contains some of the professional edition features
such as;
* The ability to view statistics on arbitrary data selections.
* Export to a comma delimited file from within Analysis.
* The ability to go back and add a second tier of comments
and notes to an experiment after the experiment has concluded
* The ability to mark happenings in the data with a keypress.
We have also fixed some bugs that were leading to slow
downs when users tried to accumulate large amounts of
data and left the statistics display on. We still recommend
that you not generate sessions of over a few hours simply
for practical analysis purposes, but they should not cause
problems for you in the future.
New Reflector Release
A new version of Reflector will be available within
the next 7 to 10 days and will include new game modules,
the above mentioned analysis capabilities, as well as
improvements on the existing modules. If you have any
particular questions or feedback about something that
you would like to see implemented in these modules, or
particularly any bug reports, please let us know ASAP.
Software Development Kit
A first version of our SDK is in its final stages of
testing right now and is scheduled for release within
the next few days. This SDK makes it possible for programmers
to get data from the device for use in their own applications.
We have included sample projects to access the REG in
Visual Basic and C/C++.
Move
Psyleron has moved to Princeton, NJ as a step towards
expanding its research program and facilitating its involvement
with former PEAR lab researchers. More details about what
this means for the company and its customers will be provided
in the near future.
Online Community
Psyleron will be restructuring its Online Community
for a new launch in a few months. The new community will
provide extended data uploading, sharing, and analysis
capabilities, and is built upon the premise of making
it easier for users to communicate with one another and
share their experiences.
