About Us

Psyleron | 211 N. Harrison Street | Princeton, NJ 08540 USA | (609) 916-0134

Psyleron was founded in 2005 by John Valentino and Herb Mertz, with the support of the Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research laboratory, to make consciousness-related research and technology more accessible to the public. Psyleron was borne out of the idea that the complexities and difficulties of working with these phenomena would be best addressed by a large-scale collaborative approach, and thus it seeks to enable a broader population of scientists and the general public to conduct their own explorations in both fun and formal settings.

Many of Psyleron’s products, and almost all of its internal research is centered around understanding the nature of empirical findings which suggest that human intention can influence the output of random event generators. Psyleron believes that true progress and understanding of these effects will require an expanded scientific paradigm that can incorporate the subtle and subjective elements of human experience while maintaining the rigor and testability of more traditional methods.

We work with researchers from around the world, including the International Consciousness Research Laboratories (ICRL), and individual Psyleron customers, combining rigorous quantitative assessments with multidisciplinary and complementary perspectives. In this sense Psyleron embodies a traditional research organization, a business venture, and collaborative experiment between parties with diverse interests and backgrounds.
